Hailios Fusion AI: the new model inside Mosaic

Launched October 6, 2026 at the Meteorological Technology World Expo in Amsterdam. A hail model trained on years of Tessera measurements, so an address without a sensor still gets an answer built on hail that was measured on the ground.

Update, October 27, 2026: Hailios Fusion AI now covers all of North America, Canada and Mexico included. Read the announcement.

What launched

Hailios Fusion AI is the model inside Mosaic, the Hailios hail data platform. It answers the questions Mosaic exists for (what the hail risk is at a location, what fell at an address in a given storm, and what is coming) at addresses where no sensor stands.

Mosaic is still the product you use. Fusion AI is what changed underneath it: Mosaic Risk, Mosaic Reports and Mosaic Alerts now run on it.

Why it is different: it is trained on the ground

Most hail data starts in the sky. Radar sweeps the storm thousands of feet above the roofline and reports a volume of cloud, not a stone at an address. Storm reports depend on someone being outdoors and calling it in.

Hailios Fusion AI starts on the ground. It is trained on years of measurements from Tessera, the Hailios hail instrument, which records every impact that strikes it: count, impact energy, concentration and duration, timestamped to the second. Because the training data is measured hail, the model learns what actually reached the ground, and it keeps training as more storms are recorded.

Its skill is scored against the ground too: against Tessera sensors that stood in the storm, not against other models.

Labeled, every time

Where a Tessera stands, a Hailios answer says measured. Everywhere else, Fusion AI answers and the answer says ground-trained, with its confidence stated. The label is never quietly dropped, so an adjuster, an underwriter or a contractor always knows which kind of answer they are holding.

Measured where we stand. Ground-trained everywhere else. Labeled accordingly.

Where it answers

At launch, Hailios Fusion AI answered at any address in the United States, and Mosaic kept answering at any site with a Tessera on it, in 150+ countries. Since October 27 it covers any address in North America. Europe and Australia already have years of measured record, and training Fusion AI on it is the next step.

Hailios Fusion AI is patent pending. To see what it produces, start with Mosaic Reports for a single address, or Mosaic Risk for a location’s hazard over time.
